Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Avernix Game Studio (“we”) collects when you use Stratagia Online, why, and what you can do about it. We collect only what we need to run the game, and we don’t sell your information or show you ads.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, your lord name and your password. We never see or store your password itself: only a scrambled form of it (a hash) that can check it but not reveal it.
Signing in. While you are signed in we keep a session with the IP address and browser details (user agent) it was created from, so we can keep you signed in and spot misuse. To slow down attempts to guess passwords, we also count recent sign-in attempts by IP address for a short time.
The game. Everything that makes up your empire: your cities, buildings, troops, heroes, items, Crowns, battles and reports, alliance membership, votes, and the messages you send in chat and mail and the comments you leave on visits. Other players see what the game shows them, such as your lord name, your cities on the map, your alliance and your messages to them.
Bug reports. What you write in a report, the screenshot if you add one, and your browser details, linked to your account so we can follow up.
Server logs. Like most websites, our servers and our hosting provider record basic details of requests (such as the time, the page and the IP address) to keep the service running and secure.
What we don’t collect
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics.
- No payment details: nothing can be bought yet. If purchases are added, a payment provider will handle card details, and we will update this policy first.
- No information from other sites or social networks.
Cookies and storage
We use one kind of cookie: the sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. It is needed for the site and the game to work. The game also remembers small preferences in your browser’s storage, such as which of your cities you last had open.
How we use it
- To run your account and the game, and to show other players what the game shares with them.
- To keep the game fair and safe: to stop cheating, abuse and attacks, and to enforce our Terms of Service.
- To fix bugs and improve the game.
- To answer you when you contact us.
Who else handles it
The website and accounts run on Cloudflare, which hosts the site, stores accounts and bug report screenshots, delivers the game’s files, and may check sign-ups and sign-ins for bots (Cloudflare Turnstile). The game itself runs on servers we operate. We share information with others only if the law requires it, or to protect players or the game from harm.
How long we keep it
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it, or we close it.
- Sign-in sessions: until they expire or you sign out.
- Game progress and messages: until a wipe. Alpha and beta progress will be wiped before launch.
- Bug reports: as long as they help us fix the problem.
- Server logs: for a short time.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and the information linked to it. Reach us through support@avernix.com. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local law, such as the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Children
Stratagia Online is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Passwords are stored only as hashes, connections are encrypted, and access to our systems is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don’t use anywhere else.
Changes
We will update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. For big changes, we will tell you in the game or on this site.
